The swimming performances suffered on another cold evening (9C or 48F) at the Jose Finkel Trophy.
One girl the bad weather did not stop was Fernanda Delgado(ATN) who put up some impressive times. Delgado recorded a time of in of 25.77 in the women’s 50 freestyle making her the fastest 15 year old in the history of Brazilian swimming. At 14 years of age she posted a 25.91 which was also the fastest time for a Brazilian of that age.
In the women’s 400IM Joanna Maranhão (Nikita) won the event easily finishing in a time of 4.49.09
On the men’s side Thiago Pereira(SESI) collected a win finishing in a time of 4.20.41.
In the women’s 50 freestyle Graciele Hermann(GNU) won in a time 25.29 she was followed by Femke Henskerk(Minas) who recorded a 25.44.
In the men’s 50 free male Nicholas dos Santos(Unisanta) won in a nail bitter touching in a time of 22.30 only eight one-hundredths of a second behind Marcelo Chieriguini(Pinheiros) who finished second in a time of 22.38.
Poliana Okimoto(MINAS) won the women’s 800 freestyle in a time of 8.44.26.
Corinthians won the men’s 4 x 200 freestyle relay posting a time of 7.21.00 while Minas won the women’s event in a time of 8:08.08.
