12-year old Joshua Zuchowski has broken his own 11-12 National Age Group Record in the 400 yard IM.
Swimming on Saturday in the Elite Showecase Classic in Clearwater, Florida, Zuchowski swam a 4:07.81 in the final to win the event for his age group. That improves upon the 4:08.92 that he swam at the 2017 NCSA National Championships 3 weeks ago as the new best-ever in the age group.
Zuchowski has now been almost four seconds better than the next-fastest swimmer in 11-12 history: Nick Silverthorn, who swam a 4:11.78 in 2008.
Zuchowski’s previous best time, until his recent record-breakinig run, was just 4:18.86.
Earlier this week, Zuchowski shattered Chas Morton’s 11-12 NAG Record in the 200 yard IM, which had stood for 33 years. He has also broken National Age Group Records in the 200 yard back (1:52.47), the 200 meter IM (2:14.93), and the 400 meter IM (4:45.09).

Mr Zuchowski is on fire. Can’t wait to watch him in long course.
Wow, I’d like to see Joshua swim the 400 yd IM simultaneously with Chase Kalisz in the 400 m IM to see who would win; Chase would have to swim one of his best times to beat him! 😉
Hey genius Kalisz went 3:33 at NCAA’s
i think he means lc
Hey genius. Look at the little m after the 400. That stands for 400 METERS IM. I think you owe DANJOHNROB an apology for your attitude problem.
