Juba Happy With Ottesen Gray And Glaesner’s Results

In an interview with the Danish Swimming Federation media department Danish National Team Head Coach Nick Juba expressed his pleasure with the way that both Jeanette Ottesen Gray and Mads Glaesner performed at the most recent World Cups in preparation for the upcoming European Championships in their home country.

“Jeanette was again pretty successful, even though she has not got a lot of work in this belt yet,” said Juba.

“She has not been in the water for long, but she was still able to deliver some good results. She is a great short course swimmer.. With the training the next few months I’m sure she will be in very good shape for Herning.”

Ottesen Gray finished first in Dubai and Doha in both the 50 and 100 butterfly and finished third in both competitions in the 50 and 100 freestyle. If there was concern about her performances after a long layoff those worries can be put to rest as she had early season results that are not far off her textile lifetime bests.

“For Mads it was about testing himself ahead of the European Champs. I think he was very pleased especially with his 400m freestyle, it was quite a good race. Unfortunately his 1500 free was not as fast as he had hoped.”
