Juniors Qualifier Rachel Peroni Gives Verbal Commitment to Duke

Rachel Peroni, a rising senior at Powell, Ohio’s Olentangy Liberty High School, has announced on social media that she is verbally committed to Duke University’s class of 2022.

“So excited to announce my verbal commitment to swim at Duke University! I can’t wait to be a part of such an amazing team! Go Blue Devils??”

Peroni was a two-time finalist at the 2017 Ohio State Division I Championships, finishing fifth in the 200 IM (2:06.54) and 11th in the 100 fly (56.32). She is also a member of Ohio State Swim Club, with whom she competed at the 2016 Winter Junior Nationals East in the 100 back, 100/200 fly, and 200 IM.

A USA Swimming Scholastic All-American, her top SCY times are:

  • 50 fly – 24.88
  • 100 fly – 54.68
  • 200 fly – 2:01.30
  • 100 back – 56.46
  • 200 back – 2:02.21
  • 200 IM – 2:05.14

Also verbally committed to Duke for 2018-19 is Melissa Pish.
