Kansas’ Nusbaum Tabbed as Big 12 Swimmer of the Week

LAWRENCE, Kan. – After the first weekend of competition in 2018-19, Kansas swimmer Jenny Nusbaum was recognized by the Big 12 as the Swimmer of the Week as announced by the league on Wednesday afternoon.

The junior touched the wall first in three different events for the Jayhawks and aided in victories in three relay events last weekend, as Nusbaum helped Kansas open the season with a win over Missouri State and South Dakota at the Double Dual.

On the first day of competition, Nusbaum finished in first place in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:50.25. She also helped Kansas to a gold medal in the 800-yard freestyle relay, clocking a time of 7:31.16.

During the final day of the double dual, Nusbaum recorded first-place finishes in the 100-yard freestyle, the 500-yard freestyle, the 200-yard freestyle relay and the 400-yard freestyle relay.
