Katarzyna Wasick Breaks Own Polish Record in 100 Free (SCM)

2019 LEN EUROPEAN SHORT COURSE CHAMPIONSHIPS

Polish Olympian Katarzyna Wasick, aka Kasia Wasick (Wilk), broke her own national record in the 100 free, swimming today in the semi-finals at the 2019 European Short Course Championships.

Wasick’s time today of 52.81 put her 4th in her heat, which was won by Freya Anderson in 51.95, and 6th overall, qualifying her for the finals. The time also shaved just under three-tenths of a second off of her previous best time (and national record) of 53.10, which she at the Polish championships last December.

She is also the national record holder in the long course version of both the 50 free (24.73) and the 100 free (54.22), with both of those times coming from this summer’s national championships.
