After seeing Katie Ledecky dominate freestyle for the last decade, it has been an absolute treat to witness her branch out to other events over the last year. Specifically, she’s taken to the 400 IM, where at Summer Nationals (4:35.77), Knoxville PSS (4:36.09), and now Ft. Lauderdale PSS (4:36.04), the veteran has clocked the fastest 3 swims of her career in the event. We’ve also seen Ledecky racing in the 200 fly and 200 IM more often in an effort to keep things fresh.
Three completely different races with practically same final result. If to take best times for each leg in these three races then we will get final time 4:33.26
That is where I would expect Katie to be to the end of this season.
Greg Meehan destroys his swimmers
Not really. Can’t forget he coached Ledecky to success at the Rio games, which her 800 free world record will stand for a very long time. Also coached Simone Manuel to and Maya Dirado to individual Olympic gold medals. What about Torri Huske becoming world champion last summer while training at Stanford? Yes, swimmers do leave as a change of coaching is sometimes necessary to stay competitive in this demanding sport. Your repetitive comment is baseless and getting old.
not to be that guy, but I don’t think she was with Meehan leading up to 2016.

Good catch, regardless, she had a lot of success at Stanford and set multiple NCAA records and won many world titles.
Katie Ledecky lost more international races at major international competitions under Greg Meehan than under Suguiyama, Gemmell, Nesty combined.
Right, and I can sorta give everyone on mulligan on 2020.
I don’t know if you guys remember, but it was a very strange set of circumstances leading up to the Tokyo Olympics.
Katie Ledecky deferred a year’s entry into college.

I’ve seen at least Torri, Tylor, Maya shared very useful tips they got from Greg and the good training experiences in Stanford. Katie may lack long distance training partners but she achieved an untouchable world record immediately after turning pro in 2018. If blaming everything to the coach, is Anthony Nesty responsible for Caeleb’s retreat?
I’d prefer Katie Ledecky to swim the 200 IM in lieu of the 200 FL.
Go Katie Go!
