Three-time world record holder Katie Ledecky finished about a pool length ahead of the field in the fastest heat of the women’s 800 free, but that wasn’t what jumped out to us. Rather, with her 8:10.91, she now holds the ten fastest times in the 800 free ever.

Ledecky has bumped out Rebecca Adlington, who used to hold the world record before the American teenager at 8:14.10. In 2012 at the London Olympics, a 15-year-old Ledecky shocked the world, winning the gold medal in this race over the hometown favorite Adlington and nearly breaking the Briton’s world record right then and there.
With American distance legend Janet Evans in the audience, Ledecky has cemented herself as the fastest all-time performer in the 800 free ten times over.
Ledecky did not push this race until a little sprint for the last 10 meters, and the world record is, of course, in danger tomorrow night.
DAMN!!! I hopes she targets the 200m record after RIO!!
A swimmer for the ages!!!!
Some day im ganna break all her records
The world record will be crushed tomorrow or in Rio.
I’m sure she is not totally happy as long as she doesn’t break the 8-minute barrier! 😆
crazy
