The 2022 FFN Golden Tour is upon us, with the series’ first top in Nice slated to begin on Friday, February 4th. This represents just one of two total stops on the tour, with the other taking place in Marseille from March 4th to March 6th.
With the 2022 FINA World Aquatics Championships now having officially been postponed to 2023, this particular meet doesn’t hold as much tune-up significance as it might have with Fukuoka just a few months away. However, there is still a reason to get excited with the diverse elite lineup of athletes set to race from both host nation France and beyond.
A visiting athlete to the tune of multi-Olympic champion Katinka Hosszu is expected to race, entered in the women’s 200m fly, 200m IM and 400m IM.
The 32-year-old Hungarian ace last raced in November, making several modest appearances at her nation’s Short Course Championships. The recently-engaged former USC Trojan placed 4th in the women’s 200m IM, for example, hitting a time of 2:11.71.
Here in Nice, sprint star Florent Manaudou of the host nation appears on the start lists in the men’s 50m free and 50m fly while teammates Charlotte Bonnet, Yohan Ndoye Brouard and Mewen Tomac are also among the entrants.
Also of note, American Linnea Mack is listed among the entrants, claimed by the club Zento Pro Swimming of Switzerland. We have reached out to Mack for comment on her current trianing base status.
