Katinka Hosszu Poses For Playboy Hungary

Not a stranger to the spotlight, Hungary’s #IronLady, Katinka Hosszu, has been making history both in and out the pool for some time now.  In addition to proving that swimmers can indeed make pro-athlete salaries via her six-figure World Cup earnings, Hosszu is also paving roads in the mainstream via product endorsements and media exposure.

The 26-year-old Hosszu was celebrated via sponsor Arena’s “Iron Lady” collection, complete with her famous nickname emblazoned across training suits and swim caps. She also has her recognizable face on the front of Piroska Fruit Drink bottles found in European grocery stores.  And, Hosszu even released her own book entitled “Hungary’s Iron Lady”, complete with a sequel in the works.

Hitting the mainstream jackpot, however, was Hosszu’s announcement that she posed for a photo shoot for Playboy Hungary. Her tweet hit the news feed this morning, complete with a stunning photo:

Per Hosszu’s tweet, she appears in the magazine with clothes on, which very well may make the champion swimmer the only woman in history to wear more in the magazine than she does in her every day life!

For anyone who speaks Hungarian, you can catch “10 Questions with Katinka Hosszu” video on the Playboy Hungary website, whereby she answers reader-submitted questions….while fully clothed.

My dear American friends, no reason to be shocked by that photo! 😆
It always makes me smile to see that most of the Americans (not all fortunately) are shocked to see a nude person on TV and less shocked to watch people with guns in hands killing other people.
I’m not a fan of Hosszu’s body but Hosszu makes what she wants. Clothed or not. If she has fun with that. Who we are to judge her? Enough of that false morality. Enough of that puritanism.

This headline is a click-baiting tease.
I would love to see Katinka in a (tasteful) shoot similar to ESPN’s Body Issue. She usually looks like she could go hulk through her swimsuit at any moment. Just an incredible body.

Pls stop replying to Swimmer’s comments, he’s obviously just trolling. Ignore him and see what happens…

I’m disappointed… If you’re going to pose in Playboy it seems pretty stupid to pose clothed. Why wouldn’t she just pose in a different magazine. I think it makes her look dumb and makes swimming look like a bunch of prudes. Props to Amanda Beard for being comfortable enough with herself to pose for Playboy and for Natalie Coughlin to pose nude (but not revealing) in ESPN.

It is a Siren call to all red blooded Playboy reading Hungarian men to rise up from the Ukrainian serfdom & Romanian godonlyknowswhattheydooverthereinthatmiserableplace & forge ahead with the Hammer & the Tractor Tyre – the symbol of a new Magyar Kingdom.

Just you wait , Swimmer , when Katinka the Iron Lady & Orban the Victorious are finished she will ride naked bareback through the reconquered territories to the adulation of all . Victor will wear one of those bearskin hats & hopefully some trousers.

I think your comments make you look dumb instead. If I were you I would have stopped this nonsense after seeing the first 2-3 comments to your hippocratism. 😀

Hippocratism. Thank you. I was just having some fun but I am now part of the most fundamental medical philosophy known to western man.

I am all for women of non-traditional body types being featured in media. Particularly for a sport like swimming, where so many young women have body image problems that can lead to eating disorders and self-esteem problems. While it doesn’t seem that she’s targetting the youth demographic with this shoot, I still believe this is positive exposure. And let’s be honest, if you want to see nudity in this day and age, paying money for a Playboy mag is one of the last options anyone would consider.

So, in summary, good for Katinka Hosszu. Showing pride and confidence in your body despite not fitting the typical model mold, because of what it can do and the work you’ve put into… Read more »

This is clearly an appeal to save the Transcarpathian villages . Ukraine has allowed only one spade per village & reduced their few remaining Ruthenians to rags ( so succinctly shown by Katinka ). What is disturbing is that Naftogaz can pay upfront for just 5 days gas from Russia per time & if the flow is not upheld all of Hungary will freeze.

Ok I only have the photo to go on but of course the article will be deep & meaningful.

I do not think Americans are qualified to talk about this at all. She is from Europe, where half of people/women are topless on beaches. It is not a big deal, anywhere but in this country, even if she did posed topless. Whatever works for her.

Don’t forget about Amanda Beard’s Playboy appearance in July, 2007. Quite a bit different than the Iron Lady’s.
