2024 AUSTRALIAN OLYMPIC TRIALS

GOLD – Kaylee McKeown, 2:03.30 *OLY Qualifier
SILVER – Jaclyn Barclay, 2:07.88 *OLY Qualifier
BRONZE – Hannah Fredericks, 2:08.25

Kaylee McKeown bas apne khud ke 200 backstroke World Record ko miss kar gayi jab usne Thursday ko 2:03.30 ka time post kiya, jo ke #2 swim hai all-time. Woh apne World Record 2:03.14 se sirf 0.16 second door thi jo usne March 2023 mein swim kiya tha. McKeown ne iss season ka world lead kiya hai apne aaj ke time se.

Top 5 Women’s LCM 200 Back Performances All-Time

  1. 2:03.14 – Kaylee McKeown, 2023
  2. 2:03.30 – Kaylee McKeown, 2024
  3. 2:03.35 – Regan Smith, 2019
  4. 2:03.69 – Regan Smith, 2019
  5. 2:03.70 – Kaylee McKeown, 2023

Ye McKeown ka dusra near-miss tha apne khud ke World Record ka, kyunki usne meet ke din 2 mein 100 backstroke mein 57.41 swim kiya. Woh swim bhi uske World Record 57.33 se thoda off thi jo usne October 2023 mein swim kiya tha.

McKeown is summer apne Olympic title ko defend karne ki soch rahi hai kyunki usne 2020(1) Tokyo Games mein yeh event 2:04.68 mein jeeta tha. Us time field mein Regan Smith of the US nahi thi jo ke all-time #2 performer hai 2:03.35 ke time ke saath jo usne 2019 World Championships mein swim kiya tha. Smith ki swim us waqt ek World Record thi.

Last summer, McKeown ne Smith ke saath 2023 World Championships mein compete kiya tha jaha McKeown ne backstroke events sweep kiye the including a 2:03.85 in the 200. McKeown ne 2023 Australian Trials mein 2:03.70 swim kiya tha, toh aaj ki swim uski consistency dikhati hai in posting some of the fastest swims of all-time even not on the biggest stage. Smith bas McKeown ke peeche hai is season 2:03.99 ke time ke saath in the 200 backstroke, jabki aur koi swimmer 2:05 mark ke neeche nahi gayi hai.
