Keenan Robinson has been named the new Director of Athlete Services at the North Baltimore Aquatic Club, head coach and CEO Bob Bowman announced today.
This is Robinson’s second stint with the program after a previous three-year run with the program.
When Bowman went to take over the Club Wolverine and University of Michigan programs from 2005-2008, Robinson joined him there to oversee their dryland programs. His role as the chief athletic trainer for the Michigan men when they won their NCAA Championship in 2013 capped five seasons with the Wolverines.
“Keenan brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our program that is second to none ”said Bowman. “No one in the world has his track record of excellence in aquatic strength coaching and athletic training.” Robinson was Head Athletic Trainer for the 2012 USA Olympic Team in London where NBAC swimmers won 11 medals including 7 gold. He was instrumental in the preparation of 6 Club Wolverine athletes who won 12 medals (10 gold) at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.”
Robinson was also the Head Athletic Trainer for the 2012 USA Swimming Olympic Team in London.
“I am so grateful to the University of Michigan and part of my heart will always be in Ann Arbor,” said Robinson. “The opportunity to focus on high performance at NBAC and to rejoin the staff that has meant so much to my development over the years is too good to resist.”
Robinson will head a team of professionals in “fitness, lifestyle and medical support” for NBAC’s elite and developmental programs, which will be supported by a new investment from NBAC in state-of-the-art training and recovery systems.
“We are committed to providing an environment of excellence in every aspect of athlete development and swimming performance, “Bowman stated. “The addition of Keenan Robinson to our team is an important part of this mission.”
Not sure where everyone is getting their facts… from what I see – NBAC is just getting started on their path to greatness – and the rehiring of Keenan Robinson will add to an excellent coaching staff with Bob Bowman, Erik Posegay and Tom Himes.
Not even getting into the total powerhouse NBAC was in 2012 – the age group side was a force to be reckoned with and will only continue to dominate with Keenan’s return.

They will have three “local” junior high school boys go 1:47 or faster in the 200 back in 2013-2014
NBAC women won the 2012 summer juniors.
If having two of the top ten girl recruits in the 2014 class is normal then that is pretty good. And they have good boys, just not physically mature which allows for development in college. I think they sent six sophomore and junior boys to summer juniors from a club much smaller than Dynamo, SwimMac, Nations Capital, etc.
Let’s be honest, they are way down from prior eras/years. Taking 6 boys to jr nationals and scoring a total of 6 points is not exactly a return to glory.
exactly my point. they used to be loaded in every age group and could compete with the best teams every year and now they couldn’t do at age group or senior level. neither one of their top 10 girls are home grown. both moved there as sophomores?….and to be honest, haven’t improved that much since making the move. they used to never send kids to juniors .
Great hire. He has a lot to do with their success and Bowman knows it. He is not as confident without him!
Bowman has been back for a while and their club kids are pretty normal. Need some fresh blood in their coaching!
