Kenedy Thaman of Houston Swim Club Gives Verbal Nod to Arkansas

“I’m so excited to join the Razorback family! I found a school and a city that I fell in love with immediately. This team is full of amazing ladies who made me feel welcome. I have no doubt that I will reach my goals with the support of the team, coaches, and university.”

Kenedy Thaman of Missouri City, Texas has given a verbal commitment to the University of Arkansas for the 2017-18 season. Thaman is a senior at Ridge Point High School who specializes in sprint freestyle. As a sophomore she finished third in the 50 free (23.77) and fifth in the 100 free (52.23) at the 2015 Texas 5A State Meet. She was fourth and eighth in the same events as a freshman.

Thaman swims year-round for Houston Swim Club. She competed in the 50/100/200y free, 100y back, and 50y fly at the 2016 NSCA Spring Championships, and in the 50/100/200m free, 100m back, and 100m fly at the NCSA Summer Championships in August.

Her top times (SCY / LCM) are as follows:

  • 50 Free – 23.55 / 26.87
  • 100 Free – 51.07 / 58.79
  • 200 Free – 1:52.09 / 2:08.04

Thaman will join the Razorbacks with Alyssa Lemon, Shea Gregson, and Peyton Palsha, all of whom have also given verbal commitments to the Arkansas class of 2021.
