King Aquatic Club Breaks Scottsdale’s 200m Free Relay NAG Record

The 2015 Pacific Northwest Senior LC Championships kickoff today in Federal Way, Washington with a new National Age Group Record in the men’s 200 meter freestyle relay.

In the first men’s event of the day, the relay from King Aquatic Club won with a new national record of 1:33.72. The relay team of Kevin Dang (17), Thomas Anderson (17), Mathias Oh (18), and Dale Williams (16) broke the previous 15-18 national age group record of 1:33.75 that was set by Scottsdale Aquatic Club in 2013.

The next closest team was King Aquatic’s B squad with a time of 1:36.24. The B relay was able to challenge the A relay off the start thanks to a quick 23.25 lead-0ff split from Zachary Wagner. Had Wagner been on the A relay, however, their time would not have counted as a national age group record because he is 20 years old.

Take a look at the comparative splits below:

  • Scottsdale Aquatic Club, 2013 – 1:33.75
    • Ryan Hoffer (15) – 23.79
    • Nick Magana (17) – 23.02
    • Connor Stirling (16) – 23.25
    • Brad Dorsey (18) – 23.69
  • King Aquatic Club, 2015 – 1:33.72
    • Kevin Dang (17) – 23.84
    • Thomas Anderson (17) – 23.01
    • Mathias Oh (18) – 22.90
    • Dale Williams (16) – 23.97
