KING Breaks Yet Another National Age Group Relay Record

Is there a National Age Group Relay Record in the 15-16, 17-18, and 15-18 age groups that hasn’t been broken in the last month? In what has been a dizzying display of team action, the King Aquatic Club broke another all-time American NAG mark on Sunday, at the end of the four-day Pacific Northwest Swimming Championships, going 3:31.30 in the 400 long course meter freestyle relay.

That broke the old record of 3:31.43 set in 2010 by the Aquazots with a relay of Michael Hauss, Christopher Wong, Logan Redondo, and Josh Smith.

The new record setters were Thomas Anderson (15), Koppi Kolyvek (15), Mathias Oh (16), and Tommy Thach (16). The splits (all with about a three-tenths of a second reaction time):

Anderson – 52.81
Kolyvek – 54.05
Oh – 52.68
Thach 51.76

This was the same relay that broke the 200 medley 15-16 NAG Record earlier in the meet, with the exception of Kolyvek stepping in for the breaststroker Maclurg.

The KING 17-18 girls broke the 200 medley relay National Age Group Record earlier in this meet as well.
