10-year old Ethan Dang from the KING Aquatic Club in suburban Seattle broke a National Age Group Record last week in front of his home crowd. He swam a 1:18.71 in the 100 meter breaststroke to take down the National Age Group Record set last year by Matthew Limbacher.
Dang doesn’t age up until February of 2013, so expect him to maybe take a run at Michael Andrew’s yards record that sits at a 1:08 this winter (though Andrew’s height made him very good in short course at that age).
Dang’s next meet will be the Western Zone Age Group Championships in Grand Junction, Colorado, where he will be the top seed in the 100 breaststroke by 13 seconds.
That was one of two NAG Records set by the swimmers at KING, alongside the 13-14 boys who broke the 200 medley relay.
Dear Ethan Dang will you please wear your shoes barefoot?
Ethan Dang will you please wear your shoes barefoot?
1:18.71 100 breaststroke…and I thought my time was fast, LOL. I only have a 1:29.91. Heheh, I’m kind of slow aren’t I?
Ethan and I are on the same swim team. We are not in the same league, though…I can’t even qualify for Regionals and he’s a national age group record holder. How does he do that?
