15-year-old U.S. swimmer Justina Kozan blasted a winning time of 2:11.55 to take the women’s 200m IM crown here at the World Junior Championships. Kozan’s time checks-in as a new personal best for the teen, with the mark representing her first time ever under the 2:12 threshold.

Entering Budapest, the American’s personal best in this 200m IM rested at the 2:12.74 she put up at this year’s U.S. Summer Nationals. In this morning’s heats of the event at these Championships, she took the top spot in 2:12.83, less than a tenth off of that outing.

This evening, Kozan charged to the wall by over a body length, topping the podium in 2:11.55 to beat out Mei Ishihara of Japan and Zoe Vogelmann of Germany. Both the women finished well behind in silver- and bronze-worthy times of 2:14.62 and 2:14.81, respectively.
