A member of the class of 2022, Krista Marlin has announced she will be making the trip to University Park, Pennsylvania to attend Penn State. The rising high school senior attends B. Reed Henderson High School and swims with the Suburban Seahawks Club.

Marlin was a two-event finalist at the 2021 PIAA 3A State Championship, finishing in the top-8 of both the 100 back and 200 free. In the back, she finished in 3rd with a time of 55.31, while in the 200 she was 5th in 1:51.10. At the same meet in 2020, she finished in 9th in the 200 free, slightly faster than she was this year with a time of 1:50.80.
At the beginning of May, Marlin was a multiple event finalist at the Spring Cup meet in Richmond. Competing in the long course pool, her top finishes came in the 200 breast and 400 IM. She finished in 15th in the breast (2:46.33) and 14th in the 400 IM (5:04.81).

Marlin is a very versatile swimmer, with the ability to make an impact for the Nittany Lions in a multitude of races. Her biggest impact on the team as a freshman will most likely come in the back and IM races. With another year of high school left to continue improving, she would have ranked within Penn State’s top-5 last season in both backstroke events, as well as the 400 IM.
Last year, Penn State finished in 10th at the Big-10 Swimming and Diving Championships.
