The Kansas University women scored wins against NAIA Morningside (130-92), and NAIA Tabor College (130-55) yesterday in a quad dual. The William Jewell women took down Tabor 217-27. The Morningside women beat Tabor 154-65.
According to Jayhawk coach Clark Campbell, the teams decided not to score the dual between Kansas and William Jewell, since they already had a dual meet in December, which Kansas won 126-67.
William Jewell scored the highest on the men’s side, taking down Tabor 222-15 and beating out Morningside. The Morningside men outscored Tabor 140-56.

400 Medley Relay
Jawhawks Yulduz Kuchkarova, Bryce Hinde, Pia Pavlic, and Haley Bishop grabbed a big win the the 400 medley relay with 3:50.83, outswimming William Jewell’s squad (4:09.24) by nearly 20 seconds.
The William Jewell teams swept first and second in the medley on the men’s side, with Craig Haug, Bryan Hahn, Anthony Aranda, and Keaton Dir clocking 3:38.39 for the win.
1000 Freestyle
Three different teams took the top slots in the 1000 free. Junior Lindsay Manning of Kansas took the win in 10:38.27, followed by William Jewell freshman Maddie Allen, who clocked 10:42.93. Morningside junior Tracy Gates came up third with 11:34.66.
On the men’s side, William Jewell took all three top slots, with the win going to Lane Bland (10:05.81), and second and third going to Zach Posniack (10:22.53) and Chris Stack (10:26.03).
200 Free
KU senior Chelsie Miller, who earlier this season qualified for B finals at USA Swimming Winter Nationals in the 400 IM, posted 1:54.51 to win the 200 free, followed by William Jewell duo Alex Milhuff (2:01.59) and Shea Marcinski (2:02.87).
Joao Granato took the men’s event with 1:45.55, followed by Dylan Walters (1:48.33) and Max Bennett (1:51.98).
100 Back
Jayhawk freshman Taylor Sieperda took the win in the 100 back, finishing in 58.19, while William Jewell senior and Sweden native Ida Nyman took second with 1:01.98 and her teammate Heather Cistola finished third with 1:04.34.
The William Jewell men swept another individual event in the 100 back, with senior Aubrey Churchman finishing first in 55.97, followed by Trey Roggenstein‘s 56.95 and Parker Temple‘s 57.57.
100 Breast
Hinde, a senior and school record-holder in this event, grabbed her first individual win of the meet for the Jayhawks with a 1:06.55 in the 100 breast. William Jewell’s Shannon Ernst (1:12.60) and Katie Hays (1:15.59) came up second and third.
On the men’s side, Jewell trio Hahn, Daniel Day, and Matthew Frederic claimed the top spots with 1:02.67, 1:04.39, and 1:05.19, respectively.
200 Fly
Bishop grabbed another win in the women’s 200 fly, finishing in 2:04.84. Carley Wood of William Jewell finished eight seconds behind in 2:13.10, closely followed by Paige Meredith in 2:13.51.
Jewell swimmers Anthony Aranda (1:57.19), Matthew Samsel (2:01.68), and Granato (2:03.53) took the top spots in the men’s competition.
50 Free
Kansas’s Brie Balsbough took the win in the 50 free with 24.54, followed by William Jewell’s Jordan Hamilton (25.89) and Rachel Kaegi (26.57). Cardinal men Corbin Grimes (22.58), Craig Haug (22.67), and Keaton Dir (22.77) finished first through third in the men’s event.
100 Free
Freshman Bishop’s third win of the day came in the 100 free in 53.68 with a first-place finish over Cardinals Alex Milhuff (55.51) and Jordan Hamilton (56.59). Dylan Walters took the win in the men’s event (49.69), followed by Grimes (49.88) and Dir (50.20).
200 Back
The win in the 200 back went to Kansas’s Pavlic (2:03.88), with second and third going to Wood (2:14.21) and Brytany Stewart (2:20.52) of Jewell. Their teammates Haug (2:01.61), Posniack (2:03.47), and Churchman (2:06.30) took the top slots on the men’s side.
200 Breaststroke
Gretchen Pocisk won the women’s 200 breast, coming in twelve seconds ahead of second-place Ernst (2:36.98). Cistola finished third in 2:44.72. Hahn took his second individual win on the men’s side, finishing well ahead of the field with 2:17.38. Frederic came in second with 2:24.02, followed by Travis Colpitts in 2:25.59.
500 Free
Molden took the win in the women’s 500 free with 5:10.37. Morningside’s Gates grabbed the highest finish of the meet for the Mustangs in this event, a second-place 5:38.24. William Jewell’s Allen came in next with 5:39.62.
Aranda took his second win of the meet with 4:45.74 in the men’s event, followed by his teammates Granato (4:52.30) and junior Chris Stack, who finished in 4:59.07.
100 Fly
Lydia Pocisk took the second win for her family for the meet, after her sister Gretchen’s first-place finish in the 200 breast. Lydia finished in 57.81, one second over second-place Meredith’s 58.94. Nyman grabbed third in 1:01.48.
Bennett took the win in the men’s event, a 54.62 to lead his Jewell teammates Samsel (55.29) and Aranda (55.34).
400 IM
Miller grabbed another win in the 400 IM, clocking 4:25.34 to second-place Allen’s 4:49.52. Cistola finished third in 4:59.73. Jewell men Day (4:14.32), Bland (4:18.44), and Roggenstein (4:24.82) took the top three spots in the men’s competition.
400 Free Relay
The Jayhawk team of Breonna Barker, Molden, Pavlic, and Kuchkarova won the 400 free relay with 3:32.16, beating out Jewell’s 3:47.46. William Jewell men Granato, Haug, Walters, and Dir took the men’s win with 3:16.32.
