La Salle Men Claim Third Win of the Season Over NJIT

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – La Salle men’s swimming and diving got their third win of the season in a 186-110 win over NJIT Sunday afternoon.

The men now sit at 3-3 overall on the season.

How the Swimmers Finished –

  • Alex KuriawaJason RosalesFelix Jedbratt, and Tarik Gusic started the meet off right with a win in the 200-yard medley relay.
  • George Williamson continued his streak of wins in the 1000-yard freestyle as he won today with a time of 9:45.28.
  • Tarik Gusic swam a 1:44.35 in the 200-yard freestyle, enough to get the win.
  • In the 100-yard backstroke, Trent Burr got first place with a time of 51.64.
  • Jason Rosales added to the Explorer’s win total in the 100-yard backstroke.
  • Jedbratt secured nine points for La Salle with his first-place finish in the 200-yard butterfly. He also finished first in the 100-yard freestyle.
  • Burr got his second win of the day in the 200-yard backstroke at a pace of 1:54.15
  • Williamson won in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:39.01.
  • Zack Wolbert won in both the 100-yard butterfly and 200-yard IM.
  • The 200-yard freestyle relay was won by the team of Felix JedbrattTarik GusicAlex Kuriawa, and Zack Miller.

How the Divers Finished –

  • Sam Henninger and Carter Randall got first and second place, respectively, in the one-meter dive.
  • The diving duo had the same finish in the three-meter dive. Henninger had a score of 310.50 and Randall scored a 273.45.

Up Next –

  • The men will travel alongside the women to Princeton University on January 7th, at 11 a.m.

PHILADELPHIA — The NJIT men’s swimming and diving team completed the 2022 portion of their 2022-23 campaign on Sunday evening with a road dual meet against La Salle.

Despite a pair of victories and top two finishes in ten of 16 events, the Highlanders conceded a 186-110 defeat to the host Explorers at Kirk Pool.
