The La Salle men remained perfect on the season with a victory over the Loyola Greyhounds, while the La Salle women scored their fifth win of the year.

Women’s Meet:
Emma Smith was the star of the show for the La Salle women. The freshman scored three individual wins for the Explorers in the 1000 in 10:19.41, the 500 in 5:03.79, and the 200 IM in 2:11.76. La Salle swept all three events on the way to the convincing meet victory.
The explorers also swept the women’s 50 freestyle. The trio of Amina Wilson, Kate Hay, and Tanawan Sukothapanich hit the wall in 24.81, 24.84, and 25.36, respectively. Wilson would add a second win in the 100 fly in 1:00.27.
In the women’s 100, it was Hay who touched the wall first. Her 53.86 secured her the victory, as she was followed in by teammates Sarah Finn in 54.49, and Sukonthapanich in 54.74, completing another La Salle sweep.
Chelsea Curran scored wins in both backstroke distances for the Explorers, topping the field in the 100 with a 1:00.34 and the 200 in 2:11.52. In both races, Curran topped her teammate Natalie Simunek. Simunek touched in 1:01.05 in the 100 and 2:13.61 in the 200.
The Explorers were dominant all night, and the breaststroke events were no different as Kelsey Jenkinson won both races for the Explorers. In the 100, Jenkinson out touched Loyola’s Tara Mulligan by just .21 hundredths, 1:08.38 to 1:08.59.
In the 200, she topped her teammate Danielle Thomas by over a second. Thomas touched in 2:29.92,w hile Jenkinson finished in 2:29.92.
La Salle proved to be too much for Loyola as they capped the night by winning both the 400 medley relay in 3:59.32, from the team of Curran, Jenkinson, Wilson, and Finn, and the 200 freestyle relay in 1:39.21 for the team of Wilson, Fin, Hay, and Sukonthapanich.
Men’s Meet:
the men’s half of the meet was a similar story to the women’s. The Loyola men were no match for the La Salle team, and La Salle cruised to an easy victory.
The Explorers were led on the men’s side by Fabian Bergman. Bergman won three individual events on the evening. The first came in the 100 backstroke, were he beat teammate Jerry Gravel to the wall by over a second. Bergman touched in 52.72 to Gravel’s 53.41.
In the 200 backstroke, Bergman hit the wall in 1:58.93 as part of a La Salle sweep. Teammates Justin Hughes and Mike Stein took second and third in 2:00.69 and 2:04.19.
Bergman also won the 200 IM with a 1:56.49, and was part of the winning 400 Medley relay. Bergman, Johan Roth, Jakub Bartosiewicz, and Kip Gravel teamed up for a 3:29.71. victory.
Mattias Glenesk was another big winner for the Explorers with a 9:41.55 in 1000, over 23 seconds ahead of the next finisher, Loyola’s Andrew Mann. Glenesk won the 500 in 4:43.21, 14 seconds ahead of teammate Stefan Sharpe.
Bartosiewicz won two individual events as well, a 51.62 sealed the 100 butterfly, and a 1:54.81 sealed the victory in the 200 butterfly.
Dimitrije Mladenovic was a third double winner for the Explorers, topping roth in both the 100 breaststroke in 57.85, and 200 breaststroke in 2:09.35.
La Salle rounded out the night with a 200 free relay victory in 1:26.55. Jonathan Cabral, Justin Hughes, Roth, and Bassam Odtallah combined for the win.
