During the same Friday that the Texas men had their Orange and White intrasquad (read more about that here), the Texas women were also getting some racing in. Head coach Carol Capitani and associate head Mitch Dalton had their women race all 3 events (500 Free, 200 IM, 50 Free) that are swum on Day 2 of a conference or NCAA championships, hence the name “Day 2 Divas”. This included Austin-based pro swimmer Leah Smith, who threw down winning times in both 500 free (4:35.66) and 200 IM (1:56.64).

once a hoo, always a hoo! let’s go Leah!
pretty interesting how no 2 distance swimmers swim alike. probably like years and years of time in the water and everyone does it different. leah smith is great
Has this become a contest between the coaches or Sports Info offices of UVa and Texas to see which team can look more silly in posting up intrasquad/practice times? Anyway, Joseph Schooling would be proud.
Pretty sure Texas didn’t post anything, I’ve looked. And Coleman only posted Leah Smith, who is a pro.
The Texas Intrasquad got like 4 dedicated articles, complete race videos, and a Reese interview. As it should – these “practices” are relevant
as they say here, open up, allow access in the pool deck and you will get the articles, videos…. it is that influencer economy, this stuff matters to those they try get, I really do not care….
Colorado football’s sports info office sure doesn’t look too silly right now.
Leah is one of my favorite swimmers on team USA. She brings such positive energy to the pool, and everywhere she goes.
What was her 50?!?! Leaving us at a cliffhanger!
I got there just as they were wrapping up the 50s😭
Her best 50scy I found is a 23.7 from 2015. Surely she was under that today after the other two zippy times?
every swimmer on the team swims all events?
Yes. Except swimmers going to Pan Ams didn’t do it.
Which is like half the team, right? 😉
Pash, Bray, Sullivan going to Pan Ams
