Glenn Lasco, a senior at Mainland Regional High School in Linwood, New Jersey, has announced his intention to swim for Lehigh University in the fall. Lasco was runner-up in the 100 free (45.71) and placed third in the 200 free (1:39.97) at the 2018 New Jersey Meet of Champions in March.
“I’m honored to announce my commitment to Lehigh University. After my official visit , I knew it was the right place for me. Coach Herb and Coach Bugby’s vision, as well as the team culture was something that I wanted to contribute to. I want to sincerely thank my family, Coach Dimitar, and friends for supporting me throughout this journey. I look forward to pursuing my academic and athletic career at Lehigh University for the next four years. Go Mountain Hawks!”
Lasco swims year-round for Pleasantville Aquatics. He was an A finalist at 2017 Winter Juniors East in the 200 free (8th) and a C finalist in the 100 free (20th); he also competed in the 50 free and 100 back. At the Middle Atlantic Middle Atlantic Short Course Senior Championships last month, he won the 50 free, was runner-up in the 100 free and 200 free, placed 5th in the 100 fly, and took 7th in the 100 back. All the while lowering his lifetime bests in the 50/100 free, 100 back, and 100 fly (he went a PB in the 200 free at Winter Juniors).
