Lilly King has been undefeated so far in her home pool, fending off Kate Douglass in the 200 Breast and Lydia Jacoby in the 50 Breat at the Nat. There isn’t another pool that excites King to race in more, with the crowd noticeably always getting behind the Indiana native.
This made me like her more. A very nice interview where she seems so genuinely happy for her team mates and the younger generation. She’s at her home pool, of course she would feel that.
People just like drama. This is not it.
Which word did she emphasize? Did she say, “I feel like the crowd is here for me” or, “I feel like the crowd is here for me?” Did she emphasize “me” or “here”?
(If you understand the reference, reply to this comment!)
Really! Calm down people! She has swam in that pool since she as an age grouper. She has had countless swims their and it feels like home to her. Cut her some slack!
I never imagined that header would spark this type of reaction. Obviously she meant it as a soft supportive “here for me” and not to imply exclusively there to see her
Ye my mind immediately emphasized “here” in the quote lol people need to chill tf out
I give Lilly King credit, she hit her taper this year.
Bad journalism.
Why is she so dislike-able?
I don’t know, you should ask her.
Why blow this quote up like this? In the context of the conversation it was a really humble overall statement, but this will be stoke the hate train
Personally, I thought it was an endearing quote and wanted to highlight it so that others might give it a listen and see this fun side of Lilly King.
Personally, you thought it would generate the most clicks
It’s almost like the website depends on traffic and doesn’t just cover swim stories purely out of the goodness of their hearts.
Boo lame boo
