Lilly King Takes Big Ten Women’s Swimmer of the Week Honors

The Big Ten has released their latest weekly honors, with Indiana’s Lilly King taking Big Ten Swimmer of the Week after winning the 100 breast at the short course and long course meets against Florida and Texas.

So. – Evansville, Ind. – F.J. Reitz

  • Collected six top-three finishes against Texas and Florida, including a pair of first-place finishes in the 100-yard breaststroke against Texas (1:01.19) and Florida (1:09.05)
  • Recorded NCAA provisional qualifying times against Texas in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:01.19) and the 200-yard breaststroke (2:11.84)
  • Contributed to a pair of second-place marks in the 200-yard medley relay against Texas (1:40.51) and Florida (1:55.72)
  • Earns her third career Big Ten Swimmer of the Week award
  • Last Indiana Swimmer of the Week: Lilly King (Jan. 20, 2016)

 

Diver of the Week

Olivia Rosendahl, Northwestern

So. – Los Angeles, Calif. – Immaculate Heart

  • Swept the diving events with a score of 314.18 on the one-meter and 308.03 in the three-meter event en route to Northwestern victories over Chicago, UIC and Olivet Nazarene
  • Recorded NCAA Zone qualifying scores in both events
  • Earns her second career Diver of the Week honor
  • Last Northwestern Diver of the Week: Olivia Rosendahl (Jan. 27, 2016)

 

Freshman of the Week
Beata Nelson, Wisconsin

Madison, Wis. – Verona Area

  • Recorded four top-three finishes in Wisconsin’s dual meet against North Carolina State
  • Took second in the 200-yard backstroke (1:58.38) and third in the 100-yard backstroke (54.21), earning NCAA provisional qualifying marks in both events
  • Contributed to second- and third-place finishes in the 200-yard medley relay (1:41.55) and the 400-yard medley relay (3:40.75)
  • Earns her first Freshman of the Week award
  • Last Wisconsin Freshman of the Week: Hazel Hertting (Feb. 10, 2016)
