Clary dominated the distance races and the Buckeyes stymied the Bobcats in everything but the sprint freestyles for a 211-85 victory.

Clary’s first win came in the first individual event of the meet, the 1000 free. There, the junior went 9:54.96 to lead a 1-2-3 sweep of Buckeyes. She would drop a 4:53.88 later in the meet in the 500 free, and came back two events later to take the 200 IM in 2:04.08.

Also winning multiple races for Ohio State were junior Amy Bopp, who swept the breaststrokes, and senior Camey Rabold, who took the backstrokes.

Bopp was 2:18.10 to win the 200 breast by four seconds, and also took the 100 breast in 1:03.19, about a second up on teammate Taylor Vargo. Rabold, meanwhile, won the 100 back in 54.96 and the 200 with a 2:01.57.

Ohio’s best performances came in the sprint freestyles, where the team nearly pulled off a sweep. Freshman Corrin Van Lanen got her first varsity win in the 50 free, and it came against a very good opponent in OSU. Van Lanen was 23.56 for that win, and also took third in the 100 free. Ohio State’s Liz Li powered away with the 50.06 win, but Van Lanen (51.68) nearly touched out Rachael Dzierzak (51.58) for second.

Li followed that up with a nice leadoff split of 22.84 on the winning 200 free relay, Ohio State’s best 50 free performance of the day.

Ohio almost stole one more win near the end of the meet, when junior Carrie Dukes went 56.89 in the 100 fly to Ohio State sophomore Ariana Bullard‘s 56.31.

Other individual winners for Ohio State were 200 freestyler Katy Luchansky (1:51.37) and 200 butterflyer Meg Bailey (2:02.81).
