Livestream Andy is BACK. Andy Hardt, aka Livestream Andy, will be calling a few sessions of the prelims this week at the NCAA Men’s Swimming & Diving Championships in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
The man who has single-handedly rewritten the lexicon of the sport with phrases like “Full of Swimming” will be back on the mic calling races this weekend before handing off to Rowdy Gaines and crew for the big show.
Check out Andy’s preview of the meet below.
That’s cool and all but what is the camera angle? Don’t need that Goodyear Blimp angle
Thank God

Oh man I’m going to have to stay up to watch these prelims now.
Andy is responsible for perhaps one of my favorite calls in NCAA swimming, the line “Caeleb Dressel, the world at his feet” during the final of the 50 free always elevated that race video to me.

I wonder if there is a good formula for calling a swimming race.
One of the best race commentaries I’ve heard was the London 2012 200 fly race between Phelps and LeClos. It’s on YouTube.
Horse races are often called in a very exciting way. They have to keep a sharp eye on the action because the horses are changing position a lot.
Eh, there’s not enough moving and shaking imo to need someone calling things out like that. But!!
A big part of being good at it is literally doing your homework – being able to talk about anyone in a heat, being able to expect how certain swimmers are going to swim each race would help for a lot. Just throwing a great play-by-play guy in cold wouldn’t be super useful because there’s just not enough to talk about.
And even with… Read more »
Everyday I thank the heavens Andy called Dressel’s 17.63 instead of Rowdy
Didn’t go 16 but he broke 18!!!
Missing Sam Kendricks!
