LSU Secures Verbal From Sprint Freestyler Brooks Curry

Fitter and Faster Swim Clinics is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Dynamo Swim Club’s Brooks Curry has given his commitment to Louisiana State University for the Fall of 2019. Curry is a sprint freestyler, and a few of his accolades include a 10th place finish in the LCM 50 free last Summer at the USA Swimming Futures meet in Cary, a 19th place finish in the SCY 50 free at Winter Juniors East this past December, and several finals appearances at Georgia Senior LSC Championships.

Curry’s presence should be a boost to LSU’s relays, and he’s not too far off from individual SEC scoring potential. LSU finished 10th of 10 teams at last year’s SEC Championships. Current Swimulator projections have LSU finishing 8th this year.

Best SCY Times:

  • 50 free: 20.65
  • 100 free: 45.19
  • 200 free: 1:40.82
  • 100 back: 50.94

He’s a dark horse pick-up, have a gut feeling he’ll win an SEC title as a freshman and make the Tokyo Olympic team.
