Maccabi USA Announces Head Coach For European Maccabi Youth Games

Philadelphia, PA, March 21, 2024 – Maccabi USA is proud to announce the appointment of Zachary Lebovic, of Santa Barbara, CA as the USA U18 Swimming Head Coach for the European Maccabi Youth Games, taking place in London, England, July 30-August 6, 2024. Lebovic is currently an Assistant Coach at UC Santa Barbara, working with both the Men’s and Women’s Swim teams. Prior to his role at UC Santa Barbada, Lebovic coached at the Walter Schroeder Aquatic Club in Brown Deer, WI.

“I’m thrilled to be a part of Maccabi USA for the European Maccabi Youth Games”, said Lebovic. “This is an amazing opportunity for the athletes to represent their country, Jewish community, and see a new Country. Together we will showcase our continued effort to build Jewish pride through sport.”

Maccabi USA is looking for qualified Jewish athletes to represent the United States in Swimming at the European Maccabi Youth Games at the U18 age division for those born between 2006-2009. Appointments to the team will be made on a rolling basis based on experience and registered times with USA Swimming.

This is the inaugural event of the European Maccabi Youth Games, hosted by Maccabi Great Britain and Maccabi Europe. 800 plus athletes from 21 nations are expected to compete in this multi-sport event.
