Despite appearing on the Aussie roster, Paralympic gold medalist Maddison Elliott is missing from the classification schedules for the 2017 Para Swimming World Series in Indianapolis, Indiana June 9th-11th.

Elliott was named Australia’s Female Paralympic Athlete of the Year in 2016, after winning Paralympic gold medals in Rio in the 4 x 100 free relay, the 100 free, and the 50 free and silver medals in the 100 back and 4 x 100 medley relay.
The other Aussie swimmers who still need classification, Paige Leonhardt, Emily Beecroft, Jasmine Greenwood, Tiffany Thomas Kane, and Lakeisha Patterson, all appear on the schedules. According to the schedule, all the Aussie swimmers are being classified by the same panel.

So the B panel have to observe Greenwood, Leonhardt and Beecroft in the penultimate heat and then Elliott and Patterson in the final heat. Elliott’s last 400 free was 5:19. This was at Australian National Championships so don’t expect her to go anywhere near her entry time. Patterson posted 4:40 at the same meet, .37 off her own WR. Greenwood has swam 400 free 5 times since Nov 2016 and has shown steady improvement. Neither Leonhardt nor Beecroft are mid distance freestylers, a couple of dabbles a year in this event over the last two years or so. The psych sheet is out and it looks like Patterson’s and Elliott’s first appearance events will be the 400 free and the 100 breast

Anyone wanna bet 20 dollars that the Australians fake it till they make it. If Madison Elliot swims slow in prelims and gets moved down or whatever the IPC is obviously turning there backs to this Intentional misrepresentation scandal.

TAA states that the Australuans can cheat on their classifications because they are scheduled on Tues & only they & the Columbians will be there . This is said suspicious because Columbians apparently can only speak Spanish & never able to tell anyone about said Australian cheatin ways .
However on Thursday only The USA , Mexico & Dominican Republic are scheduled . No such disparagement of the Mex Dom linguistic abilities .
That is a terrible assumption TAA . Barack was a proud Columbian student ( not that anyone remembers him therev but he did have that nice sofa pics with his Pokkistan friend)) ) & he speaks quite good English .
The place will be full of swimmers and coaches from all countries on Thursday as it’s the day before the meet starts. My experience with the Mexico contingent is that they know how to have fun at a swim meet
Will you be there with a swimmer? Can you speak up if you see something?
Anybody can speak up but 1. be prepared to be totally ignored by the IPC and 2. also be prepared for your swimmer to be “punished” by team exclusion and an inappropriate classification (ie an unfavourable one)
Not attending due to scheduling conflicts. I wouldn’t expect to see much anyway. It would be entertaining to watch firsthand to see Lakeisha impersonating a Hemi. Plenty of eyes on the deck and everyone will be watching. Its all orchestrated anyway. If the results aren’t posted here I have source to send me a picture of the posted results prior to the meet
There are many of us that don’t know much about the Paras and classification. Can someone explain what this means (that she won’t be present?) Is this mandatory or optional?
She will be there, Curious Spectator. It is mandatory.
The background here is that she was twice classified S9 up from S8- in Berlin and at World Champs in 2015.
On both of these occasions during her first appearance swims she swam ridiculously slow times and was immediately moved back to her S8 classification.
At World Champs in 2015 her observation swim was the 100 backstroke which she swam more than 7 seconds slower than her pb.
Craig Nicholson moved her back to the S8 class and suddenly she could swim much faster, winning the S8 100 backstroke and other events in significantly faster time.

Pity her mother still has not been informed of her cure
If she goes to a 9 she has still managed to get all her lies across the line with the help of Swimming Australia.
She would still have won the S9 400 fee in Rio because she is able bodied.
NE/ IM is the only acceptable outcome.
