Maggie Hoerner Has Committed to Hope College Beginning Fall 2020

Fitter and Faster Swim Clinics is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Maggie Hoerner, a current high school senior from Lansing, Michigan, has committed to swim for Division III Hope College. Hope College, a private, Christian college, is located in Holland, Michigan. Hoerner will graduate from high school in spring 2020 and join the Dutch’s class of 2024.

Hoerner currently swims for Mid-Michigan Aquatics under Coach Ian Townsend.

Top SCY Times

  • 50 freestyle – 26.24
  • 100 freestyle – 55.10
  • 200 freestyle – 1:57.76
  • 500 freestyle – 5:13.71
  • 100 backstroke – 1:03.07
  • 200 IM – 2:21.46

With her current best times, Hoerner would have made finals in multiple events at Hope College’s 2019 MIAA Championships. She would have placed 7th in the 500 freestyle (5:13.71) and 11th in the 200 freestyle (1:57.76). Hoerner will overlap for a season with the defending conference 500 free champion, Meg Peel. The team had 3 swimmers place in the top 7 of that event at last year’s MIAA Championship meet.

The Dutch women placed 4th as a team at that meet.

Hoerner will begin her swimming career at Hope College beginning fall 2020.
