Marco Koch Performs Well In Aachen

While many of the world’s best swimmers were competing at the FINA World Cup event in Moscow, World Championships silver medalist Marco Koch had success of his own at the 44th International Swimming Festival in Aachen, Germany this weekend.

Koch, who took home silver in the 200 breaststroke in Barcelona, collected six wins at the event and set three meet records. In winning the 100 and 200 breaststroke he posted times of 58.24 and 2:05.02 respectively. Both of those times would have won the two events in Moscow.

Kenneth To won the 100 breaststroke in a time of 58.42 while Viatcheslav Sinkevich won the 200 breaststroke in a time of 2:05.61.

The other four events that Koch swam were the 50 breaststroke (27.05), 100 IM (53.96), 200 IM (1:58.49) and the 400 IM (4:09.07).

  • May 1-4, 2014 – 126 German Championships (Berlin)
  • June 17-21, 2014 – German Vintage Championships (Berlin)
  • July 3-6, 2014 – German Open Water Championships (Hamburg)
