Maria Lenk Trophy What You Need to Know

The 55th Brazilian Championships and Maria Lenk Trophy begin on Monday April 5th at the Fluminense Water Park in Rio and go until Saturday April 11th. This year’s meet will be a qualifier for the World Championships, Pan American Games and World Junior Championships.

Qualifying Standards

Qualifying standards for the World Championships in Kazan can be found here.

There were two corrections made to the World Championships standards

  • Men’s 200 freestyle – 1:47.97
  • Women’s 100 breaststroke – 1:07.85

Qualifying standards for the Pan American Games in Toronto can be found here.

Qualifying standards for the World Junior Championships in Singapore can be found here.

Competition Schedule

Monday April 6th – Prelims – 9 am local (8 am EST)  Finals – 5 pm local (4 pm EST)

  • 200 freestyle, 100 backstroke, 4 x 50 freestyle relay and 1500 freestyle (female)

Tuesday April 7th – Prelims – 9 am local (8 am EST)  Finals – 5 pm local (4 pm EST)

  • 200 breaststroke, 100 butterfly and 1500 freestyle (male)

Wednesday April 8th – Prelims – 9 am local (8 am EST)  Finals – 5 pm local (4 pm EST)

  • 400 IM, 50 freestyle, 4 x 200 freestyle relay and 800 freestyle (female)

Thursday April 9th – Prelims – 9 am local (8 am EST)  Finals – 5 pm local (4 pm EST)

  • 200 butterfly, 100 breaststroke, 4 x 100 freestyle relay and 800 freestyle (male)

Friday April 10th – Prelims – 9 am local (8 am EST)  Finals – 5 pm local (4 pm EST)

  • 200 IM, 50 butterfly, 400 freestyle, 50 backstroke

Saturday April 11th – Prelims – 8:30 am local (7:30 am EST)  Finals – 5:15 pm local (4:15 pm EST)

  • 100 freestyle, 50 breaststroke, 200 backstroke and 4 x 100 medley relay

Nicolas Olveira classified to Worlds: 1:47:93 on the morning.. his PB is 1:46:99

A slow morning, but it seem it was rainy (need confirmation)

No girls under 2:00 in the morning but at least 3/4 who can on the afternoon, nothing great, But 3 girls now with times for Jr Worlds (15 year Heitmann with 2:02:37 14 years Raurich 2:03:10 but she has 2:02 already and 16 years Roncatto 2:02:16)

Men 200 free: Joao de Lucca 1:48:62 (already swam faster this year), only 5 guys under 1:50, Felipe Ribeiro got another time for Jr Worlds (1:50:24). Hope to see Joao Nicolas under Fina A in the afternoon.

Women 100 back: Etiene 1:00:76, it is time for her to go sub 1:00.. Slow morning
