Marist swimming and diving swept the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference weekly awards for week 10 of the season. Senior Co-Captian Peter Gallino and freshman Esabelle Gervasio won male and female diver of the week while sophomore Evan Nilsson and freshman Georgeanne Zimmerman won male and female swimmer of the week.
This is the third time this season that Gallino has won the honor (diver of the week 10/25, 11/22) and the first time for Nilsson, Gervasio and Zimmerman.
Gallino won the 1 meter and 3 meter against Boston College and Binghamton last week. He scored 279.60 and 307.88 on the 1 meter and 3 meter against Binghamton. Against BC, He scored 291.83 on the one meter and 317.78 on the 3 meter.
Gervasio won both the 1 meter and 3 meter against BC with scores of 251.02 and 259.35. She won the 1 meter scores of 241.95 and placed second in the 3 meter with 245.55 points against Binghamton.
Nilsson won all six of his individual events last week. He won the 1000 free (9:34.27), 100 back (52.63) and 200 back (1:52.51) against Binghamton. He won the same events against Boston College and had a personal best of 9:27.78 in the 1000 free.
Zimmerman swept her six events last weekend, winning the 100 breast (1:07.80), 200 breast (2.27.74) and 200 IM (2:12.03) at Binghamton. She also added wins against BC in 100 beast (1:07.30), 200 breast (2.26.73) and 200 IM (2.11.77) as well.
The Red Fox men defeat Binghamton by 209.5-90.5 and BC by 204-96 to improve to 8-1 overall (4-1 MAAC). The women fell to Binghamton by 159-141 and BC by 166-134. The sit at 4-5 overall (4-1 MAAC).
