Marist’s Georgia Goldman Named MAAC Women’s Swimmer Of The Week

Marist senior Georgia Goldman was selected Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Women’s Swimmer of the Week, it was announced November 1.

Goldman posted season best times to win all three individual events in which she competed during the Red Foxes’ 178-122 victory at MAAC rival Rider on Oct. 28. She had a hand in 31 points for the Red Foxes, as she led off for Marist’s 200-yard medley A relay squad with a split of 27.82 seconds in the first race of the meet. She beat out the top backstroker in the conference in the 100-yard event, owning the only time under a minute (59.17 seconds) in the field of competitors. Goldman also placed first in the 50- (25.11 seconds) and 100-yard freestyle (55.03 seconds).

Marist is off to a 2-1 start this season and has won its last 42 MAAC regular season dual meets. The Red Foxes will compete just once in the month of November when they host Fairfield at 1 p.m. Nov. 18 in McCann Natatorium.
