Mark Theall of Aquastar Verbally Commits to UNLV Rebels

Mark Theall, from Friendswood, Texas has chosen University of Nevada, Las Vegas to be his home for the next four years. “As of yesterday I verbally committed to UNLV. I can’t wait to be a Rebel!!!”

Theall is a senior at Friendswood High School, and a year-round swimmer at Aquastar in Houston. At the UIL 6A Region 6 Championships during his junior year, Theall won both the 200 free and 100 fly, posting personal-best times in each event. He went on to swim the same events at the Texas 6A State Meet and finished 15th and 13th, respectively.

In club swimming Theall had a very successful Gulf Swimming Short Course Championships in February, 2016; he won the 50/100y free and was runner-up in the 100y fly. He also finished in the top 8 of the 100 back and 100 breast. Theall had a full schedule at Austin Sectionals in July, competing in the 50/100/200m free, 100/200m breast, and 100/200m fly.

  • 100 fly – 49.98
  • 200 fly – 2:00.71
  • 50 free – 21.55
  • 100 free – 47.12
  • 200 free – 1:40.75
  • 200 IM – 2:12.22
