Marsh, Bonniwell Earn ACC Weekly Honors

GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – Duke’s Alyssa Marsh has been named ACC Women’s Swimmer of the Week, and Florida State’s Ayla Bonniwell has been selected as the Diver of the Week. Duke’s Miles Williams has been named ACC Men’s Swimmer of the Week, and fellow Blue Devil Nathaniel Hernandez has been selected as the Diver of the Week.

Marsh went undefeated in a stellar week for Duke. The senior from Davidson, North Carolina, won six races and was part of the first-place 200 medley relay team in the Blue Devils’ wins over Boston College, Dartmouth, UConn and Harvard. In the Friday meet against Harvard, Marsh posted NCAA provisional times in the 50 freestyle, 100 freestyle and 100 butterfly.

A senior from Ithaca, New York, Bonniwell won three of her four springboard events on the week, highlighted by her first-place finish against top-ranked Florida in the 1-meter competition. She also placed third in the 3-meter competition against Florida and swept the 1-meter and 3-meter events in Florida State’s quad meet wins over Florida Southern, North Florida and West Florida.

Williams shined in Duke’s undefeated week, helping the Blue Devils to wins over No. 7 Texas A&M, Boston College, Harvard and UConn. The senior from Hong Kong won two of his three races, touching first in the 100 and 200 freestyle competitions and placing second in the 50 free, and was part of the first-place teams that won the 200 medley and 400 free relays.

Hailing from Southlake, Texas, Hernandez placed in the top two in all four of his diving competitions, winning three. The Duke senior won both springboard competitions in the quad meet against Boston College, Harvard and UConn, then went on to win the 1-meter event against Texas A&M and Harvard and place second in the 3-meter competition.
