VIA – USA Synchro News:

Team USA’s Mary Killman (McKinney, Texas) tied for eighth place in the women’s solo free final Wednesday at the FINA World Championships in Kazan, Russia.

Killman, a 2012 Olympian, finished with 86.6000 points, as did France’s Margaux Emmanuelle Chretien. Russia’s Natalia Ishchenko won the event.

“Mary had a great swim today, better than prelims,” U.S. national team coach Myriam Glez said. “She corrected everything she had to improve on. So everybody is quite happy.”

Team USA’s Bill May (Cicero, N.Y.) will go for a second gold medal Thursday when he competes in the mixed duet free final with 2000 Olympian Kristina Lum Underwood. They were in first place after Tuesday’s preliminary.

May won a historical gold in mixed duet technical with partner and 2008 Olympian Christina Jones (Fremont, Calif.) on Sunday. Mixed duet is making its debut in a FINA-sanctioned event at the FINA World Championships.

Also competing Thursday will be the U.S. duo of Anita Alvarez (Kenmore, N.Y.) and 2012 Olympian Mariya Koroleva (Concord, Calif.) in the women’s duet free final.

Universal Sports Network is providing same-day delay coverage of synchronized swimming Thursday starting at 7 p.m. (ET). In addition, UniversalSports.com will live stream the women’s duet free final starting at 10:20 a.m. (ET), followed by the mixed duet free final at 12:10 p.m. (ET).
