Maximus Williamson picked up his fifth gold medal of the meet Saturday evening, winning the 100 fly in 46.68. His time was just .41 off of his lifetime best 46.27, which he set back in November of this season.
Williamson had the fastest splits across the board, opening his race in 22.06 before bringing it home in 24.62 to blast into the wall over half a second ahead of the runner-up. Lakeside Aquatic Club teammate Maxwell Stanislaus took 2nd behind Williamson, posting a personal best time of 47.22 to drop 1.66 seconds from his previous top time.
Enzo Solitario and Luke Ellis both logged their second individual victories of the championship. After prevailing in the 100 free on Friday, Solitario brought home the title in the 200 free, turning in a time of 1:35.44 to beat out runner-up Noah Mudadu (1:36.13) by .69. Ellis showed off his versatility in the longer distances, narrowly winning the 400 IM in 3:44.77 after previously winning the 500 free. Both Solitario and Ellis were just over a second off of their best times.
Continuing to blow away the competition in the freestyle events was Claire Weinstein, who secured her third individual win in the 200 free. Weinstein posted a 1:42.37, a little over a second off of her lifetime best, and raced into the wall nearly five full seconds ahead of Aliana Marakovic (1:47.34). Taking her swim out in 49.28, Weinstein had a 2.73 second lead at the halfway mark before bringing it home in 53.09.
Danielle Herman completed a sweep of the breaststroke events with her victory in the 100 breast, blasting into the wall in a time of 59.93. Just off of the personal best 59.82 that she posted during prelims, Herman was the only competitor under 1:00 and finished well ahead of Ellen Garritson, who was the runner-up in a time of 1:02.16.
Day 3 Event Winners
- After taking 2nd in the 200 breast, Oleksandr Karpenko won the 100 breast in 53.22, missing his lifetime best by .37.
- Eloise Williamson secured the victory in the 100 fly, throwing down a time of 53.30 to shave .06 off of her previous personal best and pick up her first win of the meet.
- Building on her streak of strong performances at this meet, Applejean Gwinn prevailed in the 400 IM in 4:12.86, improving her lifetime best by almost a second. Her performance was nearly three seconds faster than runner-up Rowyn Wilber (4:15.66) and marked her third best time of the weekend.
- The Pleasanton Seahawks walked away with the victory in the girls’ 800 free relay thanks to the team of Raya Mellott, Katrin Otaegi, Isabella Ferguson and Liberty Clark. The squad posted a time of 7:25.11 to secure the win ahead of Streamline Aquatics (7:26.64).
- Texas Ford Aquatics picked up the win in the boys’ 800 free relay. The team of Jack Armour, Kurt Owens, Grayden Barker and Brayden Jones swam a time of 6:38.48, narrowly beating out Hillsboro Swim Team, who posted touched in 6:39.00.
