MEET NOTES: Miami University swimming and diving to dual Butler University

Miami University women’s swimming and diving team in back in the pool on Saturday, Nov. 8, to host Butler University at the Nixon Aquatic center at 1 p.m.

This is the first time the RedHawks have competed since their 172-115 loss to Ohio State on Oct. 23. Miami is looking to bounce back and even its dual meet record at 2-2, before preparing for the Miami Invitational next month.

Sophomore Stephanie LeMire looks to lead the RedHawks, after earning the only first-place finish for Miami against Ohio State in the 200-yard breaststroke. She also came in second place in the 100-yard breaststroke and was part of the second-place 200-yard medley relay with junior Michele Rielly, freshman Katherine Kuhl and senior Annie Marquiss in the meet against the Buckeyes.

Butler is coming off an eighth-place finish at the Indiana Intercollegiate Meet, which was hosted by Purdue. The Bulldogs also swam in a tri-meet, where they lost to IUPUI and defeated Eastern Illinois. Butler finished sixth in its first season in the BIG EAST last year, after moving from the Atlantic-10. The Bulldogs are led by head coach Maurice Stewart, who is in his ninth season at Butler.
