12-year-old Meghan Lynch of the Greenwich YWCA Dolphins finished up her remarkable weekend with two more lifetime bests. Lynch, who lives in Connecticut, has been competing at the Michael Lohberg Invite in Coral Springs, FL this weekend. Lynch won the 11-12 100 breast and 200 IM, moving up in the 11-12 NAG rankings in each event. She was 1:15.03 in the 100 breast, taking off a couple tenths from her previous best of 1:15.27 from last July as an 11-year-old. In the 200 IM, Lynch swam a 2:22.16 in the 200 IM, dropping down from her old best of 2:23.27.
In the 100 breast 11-12 rankings, Lynch moves up from #46 to #40. More notably, however, is her move in the 200 IM– she sat at #10 before this weekend, and now moves to #4.

Lynch is the only girl who has cracked the top 10 in the 200 IM 11-12 rankings in the current decade. Earlier in the weekend, Lynch posted the #6 200 breast and #2 400 IM all-time in the 11-12 age group. She beat the 13-14 and the 15& over girls in both the 100 breast and 200 IM tonight.
On the other end of the age spectrum, 38-year-old Erika Erndl of T2 Aquatics swam a 26.84 to win the 15& over 50 free. That wasn’t enough to get the OT cut, but Erndl swam a 1:00.94 in the 100 fly in late May to qualify for her fifth Olympic Trials.
