Keep in mind that trials is also a qualifying meet for Junior Pan Pacs later in the summer. I can’t find an order of events for 2016 but I’m guessing it will be the same order as 2014. If that’s the case than he shouldn’t have many issues. No stacked schedule on one day like at Junior Worlds. http://www.swmeets.com/Realtime/Jr%20PanPacs/2014/ Only possible issues are on day 2, the 100 free is right before the 100 breast, but I don’t know if he’ll even choose to swim that. The other issue is the 200 IM is right before the 50free on the last day. 200 breast is after the 200 IM and 50 free, so no… Read more »
We’ll probably know after this summer how his career will turn. Backward or forward. If he has peaked at 15/16 as it can happen for youth superstars. Or if the best is yet to come. Too early to tell right now.
I think he should focus on one swim per day at trials however that plays out. He doesn’t seem to do well with doubles or triples.
I think he does fine with multiple events as long as they are short. He set the NAGS in the 200s for most events, but has since definitively become a sprinter. He still is doing some awesome 100s.
Uh, no we won’t. He might not even hit his peak for 10 years, dude’s 17.
so in theory Michael will not taper for Trials because of USRPT right? so his time there won’t be much different than this meet, maybe 1:01 mid?
There’s a 3 day taper for a big meet.
