Top 3:

- Nic Fink (Metro Atlanta) – 59.55
- Kevin Houseman (Una – Northwestern) – 1:00.05
After throwing down a sub-1:00 this morning, Michael Andrew went event faster tonight, touching in 59.05 and coming within 0.19s of Adam Peaty’s Pro Swim Record.
Andrew held off a charge from fellow Olympian Nic Fink, who came home in 31.19 to Andrew’s 31.59 to take 2nd in 59.55.
Northwestern’s Kevin Houseman came within a whisker of breaking the one minute barrier for the second time in his career, touching 3rd in 1:00.05.
Hey! Let’s stop dragging on MA so we can all stay focused on arguing about Lia Thomas.
SwimSwam really out here starting drama with this headline!
I’m not MA’s biggest fan but jesus christ, let the man have his moment. 59.0 is really fast, whether you want to admit it or not, and he was probably just making a joke for the interview, y’all need to lighten up and get off his back.
Nobody is reading the article just the headline. He did mean Peaty’s record, NOT his World Record, but his Competition record, and he was close. Gee people read the article
I don’t see this happening BUT is it actually more plausible than MA fixing his freestyle to the point where he’s able to take the 200 IM world record? It just might be LOL
I wrote before I listened to it but still interesting to think about!
His 200IM is world class with WR potential. He knows what he has to do to make his armchair critics eat humble pie.
Peaty’s “record”
Well, one thing is Michael Andrew is a lot better butterfyer than Peatty. This makes it more difficult for Michael Andrew since unlike the typical breastsroker he can do IM, 100 fly and 50 free. Unlike Peatty he doesn’t just do one even.
Yeah! I think there should be a separate record category for the best breaststroker who can also swim butterfly. That way guys like Michael Andrew can be first place at something.

#lightenup
Doesn’t matter who you are, what meet it is, or what time of the season it is, 59.0 is very fast.
Breaking News: Peaty signed with Speedo.

Where did you find this picture?
Didn’t he go 58.67 at the Indy PSS in May 2021, then why doesn’t he have the record already?
Yeah I’m confused about that. He also went 58.82 in prelims so he’s been under Peaty’s pro swim “record” twice
