Michael Phelps Partners with Krave on National Jerky Day

In celebration of National Jerky Day, KRAVE, the jerky brand that inspired the meat snacks renaissance, announces its exclusive partnership with 22-time U.S. Olympic Medalist Michael Phelps and 2-time U.S. Olympic Gold Medalist Carli Lloyd for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. The company already has a reputable history as the go-to snack for athletes, providing a good source of protein and nourishment for football players and wellness experts alike. Phelps and Lloyd join current Team KRAVE athletes, all-pro tight end Vernon Davis, health and wellness expert Jillian Michaels and Boston Marathon Champion and US Olympian Meb Keflezighi. Additionally, Team USA athletes in Rio will have access to KRAVE’s artisanal and flavorful jerky as a result of the Hershey Company’s official sponsorship with the United States Olympic Committee.

“Throughout my career, I have been driven by the goals I have set for myself that have been designed to push me to dream bigger and reach further regardless of any past successes,” said Michael Phelps, a 4-time U.S. Olympian. “I am excited to join Team KRAVE, a company whose products have become a part of my lifestyle and be included in their ‘KRAVE Better’ campaign on the Road to Rio™.”

The KRAVE partnership with Phelps and Lloyd extends beyond their diet regimens as the company launches an extensive creative campaign that will encompass Team USA Olympic-themed point of sale displays, narrative video content and inspiring print and digital advertisements. The new creative runs in conjunction with the brand’s “KRAVE Better” campaign, which encourages consumers to persevere and accept no compromises. As the most decorated Olympian of all time and the #1 ranked female soccer player, Phelps and Lloyd epitomize “KRAVE Better” with their reputation of shattering records and challenging the status quo in their respective sports.

From our friends at Russia Today (Sept 3 2012)……

A South Aftrican business man has given 5 Olympic medallists a cow each. A cow is a traditional Bride Price (lobola ) & not to be sneered at .

Cameron De burgh had his cow processed into 120 kg of sausage that he donated to an orphanage .

2 others decided to have theirs turned into Jerky & one has taken the live cow -he wasn’t thinking of a bride yet but you never know with olympic success.

As iof writing Chad Le Clos had not decided. So SWSW remember to ask CLC what he did with his cow in your next interview.

So MP you have… Read more »

As long as he shows integrity and starts feeding Boomer Bob those cancer sticks in a few years, then I got no problem with it.

lol you’re joking, right? Nobody had to tell me that. I’m a physician and I read medical news and journals. But you don’t need a medical degree, it’s not a big secret or anything. It’s been in the mainstream news for many years, suspected due to evidence gathering for years, and then more definitively confirmed more recently. Jerky is among the processed meats that cause col-rectal cancer. Here’s a fairly recent Q&A from the World Health Organization about it: http://www.who.int/features/qa/cancer-red-meat/en/

I was obviously been sarcastic, if I were Phelps I wouldn’t let my kid anywhere near them, and I’d be lining up my first colonoscopy by age 40 at the latest, instead of the usual 50.

Are these the same doctors telling us for years that salt was bad for us and same ones that haven’t cured a major dear since polio?

Go cook a steak and read this article doc. I guess not all your peers feel the same way.

How do you “get excited” about “joining” a company when you already – supposedly – buy their food? Is he “excited” that they will be paying him because he is short of money? Marketing nonsense.

Those are the things you say when people pay you to represent their products. He isnt broke but still would like to earn some money.

National high sodium dried meats day. The sun has already set on national donut day from earlier this year, so don’t miss this one.
