Michigan is hosting the Michigan Open in Ann Arbor. This year’s meet is a dual meet between Michigan and Louisville, in Invite format. This meet serves as the winter taper meet for some of the swimmers on each team, while others are swimming through the meet in preparation for the AT&T National Championships at the University of Tennessee. A few Club Wolverine post grad swimmers were also in the meet.
The Michigan women won the 200 freestyle relay with the third fastest time in the nation this year. The relay touched the wall in a time of 1:31.62. Louisville was second at 1:32.91.
The Louisville men won the 200 freestyle relay in a time of 1:20.98. Michigan finished second at 1:22.24.
Abigail Houck led Louisville to a 1-2 finish with a win in the 500 freestyle at 4:45.34. Abigail Chin was second at 4:47. Emily Brunemann, a CW post-grad, was third at 4:48.05.
Dylan Bosch led the Michigan men to a 1-2-3-4 finish in the 500 freestyle at 4:22.55.
Tanja Kylliainen won the women’s 200 IM for Louisville with a time of 1:59.68.
Evan Noble won the men’s 200 IM for Louisvile with the seventh fastest time in the country, 1:47.81.
Rachel Lewis led the Cardinals to a 1-2-3 finish in the 50 free at 23.25. On the men’s side, post grad swimmer Zachary Hayden had the top time in the men’s 50 free at 20.27.
The Michigan women won the women’s 400 medley relay in 3:38.31. That stands as the fifth fastest time this season.
The Michigan men posted the nations fastest time this year in the 400 medley relay with a 3:10.89.
