Taylor Seaman of Brighton, Michigan has made a verbal commitment to the application process at Brown University.* Seaman swims for Brighton High School and Club Wolverine.
Seaman is a two-time USA Swimming Scholastic All-American who specializes in sprint freestyle. She was runner-up in the 100 free and finished fourth (by just .01) in the 200 free at the 2015 MHSAA Division I State Meet, earning personal-bests in both events and a Winter Juniors cut in the 100. She also anchored both Brighton’s free relays (23.0 for the 4×50 and 50.8 for the 4×100).
Her top SCY times are:
- 50 free – 23.70
- 100 free – 50.87
- 200 free – 1:51.07
- 50 fly – 26.29
- 100 fly – 58.88
Seaman had a very successful summer campaign, lowering her personal-bests in the 50/100/200m free and 100m back at the 2016 NCSA Summer Swimming Championships, and in the 200m back and 100m breast earlier in the summer.
Brown has a history of strong sprinters; their 4×50 free relay placed fourth at the 2016 Ivy League Women’s Championships and their 4×100 free relay came in third. Seaman will have the opportunity to replace Reia Tong, who graduated last year, on those relays. Individually she would have scored in the C finals of the 100 and 200 freestyle.
