Men’s Swimmer of the Week
Will Chan, Michigan
Sr. – Cleveland Heights, Ohio – Hough (N.C.)

  • Helped the Wolverines take first place at the SMU Classic, a meet that featured a six-team field consisting of Arizona, Louisville, Michigan, Missouri, Southern Methodist and Texas A&M
  • Won the 100-yard breaststroke with a meet-record and NCAA B-cut time of 52.14, a time which broke a seven-year-old record at the event
  • Finished with NCAA B-cut times in the 50-yard freestyle (19.93) and 200-yard breaststroke (1:56.83)
  • Contributed to first-place finishes in the 200-yard medley relay, with a pool record time of 1:24.91, and the 400-yard medley relay with a new meet record and NCAA provisional time of 3:07.26
  • Garners his first career Swimmer of the Week award; was named Freshman of the Week on Jan. 9, 2019
  • Last Michigan Swimmer of the Week: Tommy Cope (Jan. 15, 2020)

Men’s Diver of the Week
Cameron Gammage, Michigan
Fr. – Stockbridge, England – Lord Wansworth College

  • Won both the one-meter and three-meter events in his collegiate debut, earning 18 points for the Wolverines to help them defeat Oakland
  • Registered an NCAA Zone qualifying score of 423.60 in the three-meter to top all other competitors by more than 100 points
  • Captured the one-meter title with an NCAA Zone qualifying mark of 334.28
  • Earns his first career Diver of the Week award

Men’s Freshman of the Week 
Gal Groumi, Michigan
Hod Hasharon, Israel – Mosinzon College

  • Helped the Wolverines take first place at the SMU Classic, a meet that featured a six-team field consisting of Arizona, Louisville, Michigan, Missouri, Southern Methodist and Texas A&M
  • Captured a pair of second-place results and NCAA B-cut times in the 100- and 200-yard butterfly events with times of 46.08 and 1:43.01, respectively
  • Contributed to first-place finishes in the 200-yard medley relay, with a pool record time of 1:24.91, and the 400-yard medley relay with a new meet record and NCAA provisional time of 3:07.26
  • Earns his first Freshman of the Week award

Women’s Swimmer of the Week
Maggie MacNeil, Michigan
Sr. – London, Ontario, Canada – Sir Frederick Banting Secondary

  • The 2021 Big Ten Swimmer of the Year and Big Ten Swimmer of the Championships won three individual races and contributed to two relay wins at the SMU Classic to score a meet-high 96 points and help Michigan claim the team title
  • Swept the freestyle events with NCAA B-cut times of 21.78 and 48.73 in the 50- and 100-yard freestyle, respectively
  • Touched first in the 100-backstroke with an NCAA B-cut time of 51.09, before contributing to a pair of victories in the 200- and the 400-yard medley relay
  • Garners her fourth career Swimmer of the Week award and her first of the season
  • Last Michigan Swimmer of the Week: Olivia Carter (Jan. 20, 2021)

Women’s Diver of the Week
Abigail Knapton, Rutgers
Gr. – Omaha, Neb. – Omaha Marian

  • Broke two Army Pool records by more than 10 points in her Rutgers debut to help the Scarlet Knights defeat the Black Knights
  • Captured the one-meter title with an NCAA Zone qualifying score of 309.53 and won the three-meter with an NCAA Zone qualifying score of 333.45
  • Registered the second-best score in the three-meter event and the third-best score in the one-meter event in Rutgers history
  • Earns her fourth Diver of the Week honor and her first since Jan. 9, 2019
  • Last Rutgers Diver of the Week: Addison Walkowiak (Dec. 6, 2018)

Women’s Freshman of the Week
Letitia Sim, Michigan
Spanish Fort, Ala. – Spanish Fort

  • Won two events in her collegiate debut to help the Wolverines to a first-place finish at the SMU Classic
  • Touched first in 100-yard breaststroke (59.09) and the 200-yard breaststroke (2:09.08), earning NCAA B-cut times in both events
  • Contributed to wins in both the 200- and 400-yard medley relays
  • Earned NCAA B-cut times in the B-Finals of the 100-yard butterfly (53.06) and the 200-yard individual medley (1:57.16)
  • Earns the first Freshman of the Week honor of her career
  • Last Michigan Freshman of the Week: Kaitlynn Sims (Dec. 11, 2019)
