Mission Viejo Nadadores raise over $4500 in Relay For Life event

The Mission Viejo Nadadores have raised over $4,500 for the American Cancer Society through various fundraisers related to the Relay For Life.

Swimmers and parents of all ages got involved in the series of fundraisers, and the team showed up in full force to the official Relay for Life walk on Saturday, June 7th. On that day, members of the Nadadores took turns representing the team on the track from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM.

The California-based swim club hosted a number of events leading up to the Relay for Life, including a pool party, a pancake breakfast, a pulled pork dinner, a bake sale and a sidewalk sale, according to the team’s coaches. Participation came from all ages, with swimmers younger than 8 joining adult Masters swimmers in raising money for the American Cancer Society. The team raised $4,647.31 in total, according to team coaches.

The Relay For Life is an event organized by the American Cancer Society that takes place in various cities across the country to raise money for cancer research. The event includes a celebratory lap around a track for cancer survivors, plus a candle-lighting ceremony to memorialize those who have died from the disease.
