Haley Allen, who trains at Marlins of Raleigh in North Carolina, has committed to Missouri State via twitter:
So excited to announce my verbal commitment to swim at Missouri State University for the next four years! #BearUp??pic.twitter.com/WdgXejEFqO
— Haley Allen (@haleyallen24) 23. oktober 2015
Allen is a pretty evenly balanced swimmer across butterfly, backstroke and IM who can fit in a lot of places for the Bears:
- 100 backstroke- 57.93
- 200 backstroke- 2:05.22
- 100 butterfly- 56.97
- 200 butterfly- 2:05.85
- 200 IM- 2:05.25
Allen finished in third place at last year’s North Caroline State 3A championships in the 100 butterfly, along with a 5th place in the 100 backstroke. Both of those performances were representing Cardinal Gibbons High School. She would have finished in the top thrree of Missouri State’s depth chart last year in both 100 butterfly and 200 IM. She also has at least three scoring races in the Missouri Valley Conference.
That versatility will help the Bears to stay on top of their conference foes. They have won the last eight Missouri Valley championships, spanning both the coaching tenures of current head coach Dave Collins and former head coach Jack Steck. Despite limited facilities Missouri State is able to put together competitive mid-major teams, year in and year out.
