Missouri’s Chadwick Awarded SEC Male Swimmer Of The Week

Male Swimmer of the Week

Michael Chadwick • Missouri Senior • Charlotte, N.C.

Chadwick won three individual events and helped No. 20 Mizzou win three relays as the Tigers defeated No. 18 Kentucky, Northwestern and Southern Illinois in a quad dual. He swept the 50, 100 and 200 free races, with times of 19.89, 43.52 and 1:37.49, respectively. Chadwick currently ranks fifth nationally in both the 50 and 100 free events, 23rd in the 200 free and 26th in the 200 IM.

Male Diver of the Week

Scott Lazeroff • Auburn Sophomore • Rochester, N.Y.

Lazeroff swept the springboard events for the first time this season in No. 10 Auburn’s win over No. 5 Alabama. He scored a 341.03 on the 1-meter and a 380.85 on the 3-meter, both of which were season bests.

Male Freshman of the Week

Javier Acevedo • Georgia Scarborough, Ontario

In Georgia’s win at No. 19 Georgia Tech, Acevedo took first place in the 50 free (20.69) and 200 back (1:47.36) and was a part of the second-place 200 medley relay. In the Bulldogs’ victory over No. 17 Wisconsin, he took top honors in the 100 free and with the 400 medley relay and the 200 free relay squads.

Female Swimmer of the Week

Ashley Neidigh • Auburn Senior • Jacksonville, Fla.

Neidigh swept the distance events against No. 25 Alabama, winning the 500 and 1000 freestyles. She swam a 4:48.36 to win the 500, good for 15th place in the national top times. Neidigh swam a 9:45.74 to win the 1000, the seventh-fastest in the nation this season.

Female Diver of the Week

Julia Vincent • South Carolina Junior • Gauteng, South Africa

Vincent broke the Arkansas Natatorium record in the 1-meter dive with her top score of 344.70, setting a new personal best record in the event. She remained undefeated in the 3-meter dive this season with her best mark of the season of 351.30. Vincent is now 3-0 in the 3-meter dive on the season and 2-1 in the 1-meter dive on the season.

Female Freshman of the Week

Julie Meynen • Auburn Luxembourg

In No. 10 Auburn’s win over No. 25 Alabama, Meynen remained undefeated in the 100 free in dual meets this season, winning in 49.44. She also won the 50 free in 22.74. Meynen swam the anchor leg for the winning 400 medley relay and 400 free relay.
